Having left my camera at my in-laws over the holidays I was looking through some old pictures and saw this one from 2006. It was shot through that old ripply glass that I love, old things rule!
Tonight we attempted some family Christmas photos which was quite an adventure with Finster involved. He refused to look at the camera so 95% of the shots are of his back. This was after the attempts, which, apparently, wore Finster out.
This was the view while out walking Finster yesterday morning. When I left the house I thought it was fog so I grabbed the camera. I was in for a bit of a surprise! I see this tree everyday and finally think I snapped a decent shot of it.
This is a nod to a one of my family's traditions, every year we draw names and hand-make a Christmas ornament for the person we drew. The snowman here was made for me by my sister back in 2001.
At first I tried to get this to work without the tripod, after about 20 misses I smartened up and pulled out the beast with much better results. Apparently, I can't make a serious face when the camera is pointed at me, even if it's me that's doing the pointing.
An intentionally over exposed sky sometimes makes for a good background!
On Saturday I was asked to shoot for the band Your Loving X at Wiggly & Jiggly's in Albion, NY. I went, and shot. Concerts are a tricky venue because you don't want your flash to make it look like daytime, you always try to capture the lighting in use. To do that well I shot in manual mode all night as the auto-exposure would have constantly been confused by the odd lighting.
For a little change of pace I took Finster for a walk the other night down Main Street LeRoy. The brick wall here was illuminated by a street light, which is why it's a reddish/yellow.
My dad came in to be Santa Claus today at Present Tense in Batavia, NY. This is my dad having a blast getting ready for his time with the kids.
Erica and I were going through some old Finster pictures when we came across this beauty. This was back when I took Finster to work with me; this picture was taken during his lunch break walk. Finster was only a few months old here.
Tonight I tried something I've been meaning to do for a while. It was a nice clear night (no moon, or clouds), so I gave it a shot. This is 4 pictures with about a 15 minute exposure each stacked to make one shot. The problem with doing this in the cold is that my batteries were only good for about one shot each. If you look at the star trails you'll notice gaps in them, this is the time that it took me to run back to the house to get a new battery and reload it.
I shot this across the parking lot for the Ontaria Pathways trail in Canandaigua. Here is the Street View of this exact door.
I think I got a few double takes from drivers passing by. Finster wasn't very amused either.
I need to find another subject :) Maybe I can convince the chickens to walk with me.
We are about 1/4 mile from the pond and Finster knows it; look at that grin!
This is how Finster looks as he so patiently awaits his upcoming pond time at the in-laws.
I think I missed the focus on this one (was aiming at the ball) but the grass in focus is much better!
Trying to figure out what to post tonight I remembered that I still had this winner from the summer than I never posted. This is from the Accordion Festival that I went to with the in-laws.
