Having left my camera at my in-laws over the holidays I was looking through some old pictures and saw this one from 2006. It was shot through that old ripply glass that I love, old things rule!
Tonight we attempted some family Christmas photos which was quite an adventure with Finster involved. He refused to look at the camera so 95% of the shots are of his back. This was after the attempts, which, apparently, wore Finster out.
This was the view while out walking Finster yesterday morning. When I left the house I thought it was fog so I grabbed the camera. I was in for a bit of a surprise! I see this tree everyday and finally think I snapped a decent shot of it.
This is a nod to a one of my family's traditions, every year we draw names and hand-make a Christmas ornament for the person we drew. The snowman here was made for me by my sister back in 2001.
At first I tried to get this to work without the tripod, after about 20 misses I smartened up and pulled out the beast with much better results. Apparently, I can't make a serious face when the camera is pointed at me, even if it's me that's doing the pointing.
An intentionally over exposed sky sometimes makes for a good background!
On Saturday I was asked to shoot for the band Your Loving X at Wiggly & Jiggly's in Albion, NY. I went, and shot. Concerts are a tricky venue because you don't want your flash to make it look like daytime, you always try to capture the lighting in use. To do that well I shot in manual mode all night as the auto-exposure would have constantly been confused by the odd lighting.
